The small print that matters
Editorial policy
KidCritic’s aim is to help parents make more considered purchases. We organise information, explain trade-offs and make cautious recommendations. We do not promise that every pick will work for every family.
Commercial relationships do not determine KidCritic’s independent editorial rankings, ratings, scores, recommendations or verdicts. We do not accept payment or any other benefit in exchange for inclusion in, or a favourable result in, Our Top Picks. Advertisers and commercial partners do not approve or influence those independent editorial decisions.
KidCritic may publish clearly labelled advertisement features for which a brand pays for a placement. These features are marketing communications, not independent editorial recommendations. They are kept separate from Our Top Picks and are not scored, ranked, rated or included in our independent comparison tables or recommendation-tool results. Any affiliate links and paid placements are disclosed separately and clearly.
Our recommendation tool and editorial judgements must not be influenced by commission rate, payment amount, commercial priority, advertising spend or the existence of a brand relationship. Products appearing in paid advertisement features are not included in Our Top Picks or independent recommendation-tool results.
For more detail, read How we label advertising.
Privacy by design keeps four layers separate: identity (your email), child profile (age and interests), behaviour (how the site is used) and commercial context (retailer or affiliate links). The MVP stores no account or profile here; email is the current save mechanism.
KidCritic gets smarter the more you use it — through better recommendations and clearer editorial patterns, not through a public child profile.
