Our take
Why we like it
SNOO is an expensive responsive bassinet, not a SIDS-prevention device and not a substitute for safer-sleep guidance. Motion, monitoring and swaddling should never be presented as risk reduction.
What parents should know
No: SNOO is not proven to prevent SIDS. Keep baby on their back on a firm, flat, well-fitting mattress in a clear sleep space with no pillows, nests, bumpers or loose bedding; keep baby in the same room for the first six months; stop using it at the weight or developmental limit. Follow NHS and Lullaby Trust safer-sleep advice.
Pros
- + Responsive routine may suit some families
- + Clear early-stage purpose
- + Can reduce some night-time setup
Cons
- − Very high price
- − Short use window
- − Not a safer-sleep substitute
