Our take
Why we like it
A practical bedside-crib format when the exact setup fits the bedroom and the family follows current safer-sleep guidance. It is not a SIDS-prevention device or a substitute for safer-sleep advice.
What parents should know
A responsive bedside crib is not proven to prevent SIDS and must never be presented as doing so. Use a firm, flat, well-fitting mattress, keep the sleep space clear, put baby on their back, keep baby in the same room for the first six months, and stop at the weight or developmental limit. Follow NHS and Lullaby Trust safer-sleep advice.
Pros
- + Keeps baby close at night
- + Smaller footprint than a cot
- + Clear early-stage purpose
Cons
- − Short use window
- − Bedside setup needs careful checking
